For years, under the leadership of Teacher Li Suzhen, a group of Chinese neighbors active in the Stonegate community has built a vibrant daily rhythm of dancing, hiking, swimming, singing, and a wide range of cultural and fitness activities from Monday through Friday. Their presence has become a warm and distinctive feature of the neighborhood. The Stonegate Community Spring Festival celebration had been planned weeks in advance, but a steady spring drizzle left many wondering whether the event could proceed as scheduled. With just an hour left before kickoff and the rain still showing no signs of easing, several of Teacher Li's core team members grew anxious. Teacher Li, however, remained composed and assured everyone that the rain would stop shortly. And indeed, shortly after noon, as residents arrived from all directions carrying homemade specialties, the rain came to a halt. Volunteers quickly wiped down the wet tables and chairs with towels and cloths brought from home, spread tablecloths, hung decorations, and arranged the dishes. In less than ten minutes, the seven- or eight-meter-long tables were filled to the brim with an impressive array of home-cooked favorites from near and far β€” from Nanjing salted duck and soy-stuffed tofu to braised pork ribs and pickled cabbage dumplings β€” creating a feast for both the eyes and the appetite. Once everything was in place, the team members changed into red tops and white pants as if by magic, and the New Year atmosphere instantly intensified. To the melody of "Good People, Good Dreams," they danced gracefully, presenting a scene of striking beauty. The celebration unfolded in a joyful, warm, and harmonious atmosphere. Teacher Li, we salute you and your team!
