On the afternoon of the 13th of this month local time, a lively and heartwarming joint Lunar New Year celebration banquet for the Year of the Horse 2026 was warmly held at Luna Park in Irvine, California. Organized by the community neighbors group under the theme "A good neighbor is better than a distant relative," the event drew over 120 enthusiastic Chinese-American neighbors. Attendees brought hometown delicacies, performed on stage, and participated in raffles, celebrating the New Year and sharing hometown sentiments together in a foreign land.

Led by group administrators Baoqiang and his wife, the event benefited from the selfless contributions of many enthusiastic neighbors. The Orange County Chinese Community Service Center specially delivered multiple boxes of holiday gifts, while Jenny Wei attended to offer congratulations, adding warmth and support to the occasion.

Families signed up in succession to contribute dishes, showcasing their culinary skills with meticulously prepared delicacies including: Japanese sushi, spring rolls, sour cabbage fish, cold salads, xiaolongbao, and eight-treasure porridge. Table after table of sumptuous fare converged into a "Chinese Hundred Families Feast," filling the air with fragrant aromas and the festive spirit of the New Year.

The event featured a dazzling array of performances, creating an electric atmosphere:

A live band played joyful, celebratory melodies;

An elegant cheongsam fashion show showcased Eastern charm;

A male soloist's powerful rendition of "Qinghai-Tibet Plateau" drew thunderous applause;

Group member Xinmei performed the graceful and ethereal dance "Tibetan Maiden."

Beyond the culinary delights and performances, the event featured a surprise raffle with six tiers of prizes, revealed the day before the gathering. The first ten neighbors to sign up for the chain also received exclusive commemorative gifts. Everyone gathered around, eating, chatting, and taking photos to capture smiles and warm moments, which will be compiled into a lasting video keepsake.

"The scallion pancakes are fragrant, bringing together hearts from our homeland; Gathering in a foreign land, we may not be kin, but our bonds run deep. " This Spring Festival gathering not only immersed Chinese Americans in the rich festive atmosphere and warmth of home but also strengthened neighborhood bonds and community camaraderie. Participants unanimously praised the event as heartwarming and meaningful, bringing overseas Chinese closer together and deepening their bonds. It truly embodied the joy and beauty of "neighbors as one family."
