OCCCS Participates in Lake Forest Multicultural Festival and Shares the Beauty of Chinese Culture

On the afternoon of June 22, the City of Lake Forest hosted its Multicultural Festival from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The event featured a variety of cultural performances, community resource booths, food trucks, family activities, face painting, balloon art, and traditional cultural displays, bringing together residents and families from across the community.

Orange County Chinese Community Service (OCCCS) was honored to participate in this meaningful community celebration and present three Chinese cultural performances for the audience.

From 3:00 PM to 3:25 PM, the OCCCS performance team opened with the lively and colorful Dragon Fan Dance. With vibrant fans and graceful movements, the performance highlighted the festive spirit and elegance of Chinese dance.

From 5:00 PM to 5:15 PM, the Qing Wei Lion & Dragon Dance Cultural Troupe presented an exciting dragon dance performance. The powerful and energetic dragon symbolized good fortune, unity, and strength, drawing the attention of many attendees and receiving warm applause.

Following that, from 5:15 PM to 5:30 PM, the OCCCS performance team presented the Fan & Sword Dance. The performance beautifully combined the softness of fan dancing with the strength of sword dancing, showcasing the unique balance and artistry of Chinese traditional performance.

This year’s Multicultural Festival also featured cultural performances representing Chinese, Mexican, Bolivian, Polynesian, Indigenous, and other traditions. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for residents to experience different cultures, connect with one another, and celebrate the diversity and inclusiveness of the Lake Forest community.
